Christmas is just around the corner and our editor Darren Connolly thinks he has a selection worthy of serious consideration in the feature race over the festive season
The Noel Meade trained Road To Respect is anticipated to line up in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown racecourse on December 28.
The six-year-old chestnut made an imposing seasonal debut when he won the Irish Daily Star Chase at Punchestown, after which he came off second best in a tussle with Outlander for the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal, but lost nothing in defeat.
The Gigginstown stud owned horse is reported in fine form. but he is now likely to be kept on ice until the festive period and ticks plenty of the boxes, to be classed a chief protagonist in the Lexus chase which he is available at 12/1 and bigger with some firms.
Trainer Noel Meade has commented: “Road To Respect has also come out of his race well but it’s pretty well decided that he won’t run again until the Lexus.”
We think he needs serious consideration for the Christmas showcase race in Ireland and based on all known form he shall not be too far away.
