Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Dave Arthur and I’m based in Taunton in the West Country.
I’ve owned or part-owned Racehorses for over 30 years, both as a Syndicate Manager and as a member of some of the Biggest & most well known multiple ownership groups in Britain & Ireland. I am currently Syndicate/Racing Manager for Alex Dunn Racing in Somerset & look after Syndicate owners & Racing Club members throughout the yard.

Racing is my passion and always has been. I’ve been fortunate to be involved in many wonderful horses, from the legendary MAD MOOSE, Highclere’s 1000 Guineas 4th TREAT, Ayr Silver Cup winner TATLISU & top class Filly SANDIVA (both with Middleham Park) and most recently Supreme Racing & Willie Mullins Grade 1 winning hurdler, The Superstar Mare AIRLIE BEACH and Nick Bradley Racing & Roger Charlton’s very exciting, multiple winning 3 year old Filly CRIBBS CAUSEWAY.

I wanted to share my passion for Racing but also to let you know how much fun you can have as part of a Syndicate or Racing Club for a relatively small monthly outgoing. Owning racehorses is no longer a rich man’s privilege & Syndicate/Partnership Ownership is the way to get people involved and experience the sport they love in a totally new and exhilarating way.
I own shares in horses from as little as 2.5% and have had some of my most memorable days as part of a Syndicate sharing the excitement with new found friends. For as little as £60 or £70 per month, you can own a 2.5% share in your own Racehorse over jumps or on the Flat or join a Racing Club with an interest in a number of horses for around £50 per month.

“As we approach the Spring Jumps Racing Festivals, I thought I’d share my excitement & anticipation about whether any of my Jumps horses are going to be a) Ready or b) Good enough, to take part and give me a day out, as Airlie Beach did last year at Cheltenham”
I have 3 horses with Supreme Racing Club in training with Willie Mullins. CADMIUM made his Chasing debut last weekend, after over a year off & put in a fine performance in 3rd place, which could see him with entries for the Arkle and/or JLT Novice Chases at Cheltenham. The unbeaten SHANNING has had a break since her Autumn double & may well end up in the Mares Novice Hurdle. Finally, DERBY is a gorgeous 5 year old French bred gelding, who won his most recent Point to Point by 12 lengths. He is being prepared for his bumper debut shortly & hopefully could be good enough to contest one of the Festival Bumpers.
I’ll keep you up to date with their progress over the next few weeks and see if one of my team can take me to the ultimate Ownership goal.
Next week I’ll cover my 2 hopes with Gordon Elliott & a dark horse with Alex Dunn.
