bien chase

Exclusive weekly blog with talented Armagh based handler Adrian McAllister, who has the determination and drive to make to the winners enclosures regularly this season with his string of capable horses.

This past week has been long where we have been doing a lot of schooling over hurdles and fences in preparation for the season ahead.

We had no runners in Dundalk on Friday night as there was no race suitable for our horses.

We have 3 runners now this incoming week. One at Fairyhouse on Wednesday in the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle. She is a lovely mare called Elzaa and she has run some great races but unfortunatley no wins. At the moment she is in great form and I have been waiting for a mare’s race for her for some time so hopefully she runs a good race.

On Friday night (09/02/18) we are off to Dundalk where I have two runners Willwams and Bien Chase in the apprentice race over 7 furlongs.

We bought Willwams out of England and he is a lovely horse with bags of ability. He was with Richard Hannon and has ran four times and been placed in all four races so hopefully we can keep this record up.

Bien Chase has been a great servant for us and he loves Dundalk and was placed second the last time out so here’s hoping for one place better.

I would like to congratulate Adam Short and Derek O’Connor on their great rides this week. Adam rides a lot of work for us at Lee Valley and rides all our National Hunt Horses.

Derek gave Edwulf a fantastic ride and it is great for Derek and Joseph O’Brien to win the Gold Cup on Sunday past.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my deepest sympathy to the Codd Family on the untimely passing of Willie. He was a lovely man and a fantastic trainer and will be sadly missed on the Point to Point scene throughout all of Ireland.
