Not only a supremely talented jockey, Kate Harrington is also assistant trainer at her mother Jessie’s Commonstown base in Moone, Co. Kildare.
Before she gets stable stars like Sizing John, Our Duke and Supasundae ready for the Cheltenham Festival in just over a week’s time, she stops by to take on the next edition of Turf Talk with @RoryFitz

Q: Most naturally gifted?
A: Nina Carberry. She’s a Carberry, it really needs no explanation

Q: Most stylish?
A: Robbie Power. His ability to get a horse jumping is second to none, just take a closer look next time.

Q: Perfectionist?
A: Rachel Blackmore. She will always come back in and analyse each bit of the race

Q: Most intelligent?
A: We all ride animals around a field with two ambulances following us! Are any of us intelligent?

Q: Most underrated?
A: Paddy Kennedy is a brilliant jockey that hasn’t had the breaks in the game. He’s got injured at the wrong time a couple of times too

Q: Comedian?
A: Roger Loughran comes out with the best one liners

Q: Cheapest?
A: Mark Walsh. He’s too afraid to spend it.

Q: Worst dress sense?
A: Patrick Mullins wears baseball caps with everything, and flares

Q: Worst taste in music?
A: Robbie Power. Just go on a car journey with him, could have anything from Rihanna to Christy Moore, or even a bit of eye of the tiger. He sings along to them too

Q: Biggest moaner?
A: There’s no real moaners, well they don’t moan to me anyway.

Q: Worst singer?
A: Now I do love getting them, but Mark Enright’s singing Snapchats are brilliant. You do need to turn them down a little bit though.

Q: Worst dancer?
A: That would have to be myself. I’ve got two left feet

And finally,….

Q: Future star?
A: Donnie McInerney is a great young lad who is going places, and he has got the right team helping him along

From all of us here at 3furlongsout, we would like to wish Kate, Jessie and all the team the very best of luck at the Cheltenham Festival.
