Wednesday 15th August

Our inform Tipster Ryan Lewis has a free reasoned selection for every race at Gowran Park on Wednesday evening.

4.35 - Cartes 7/2 - We start off the card with a maiden over seven furlongs. This is a pretty decent maiden and it’s ultra-competitive. Cartes is the one for me here however. This horse was very well backed on debut at Limerick. I thought he ran well. He was very green in the early stages but once he finally got the hang of things, he flew home and was quite unlucky not to get up as he finished a very close third. He will obviously come on for that experience and I think he will go very close here. Cartes a pretty confident bet in the opener.

5.10 - Silver Service 5/2 (NAP) - The second race on the card is a nursery over seven furlongs. This is a decent maiden actually with many of these having some sort of chance. Silver Service is the one for me here. She does carry a big weight here, but I think this horse is a listed class horse. She absolutely bolted up last time out at Tipperary beating quite a decent field easily. I think that Silver Service will be a much better horse than these in time. If she’s able to carry the big weight she should be going very close here. Silver Service a decent bet here.

5.40 - Dawn Hoofer 8/1 - The third race on the card is the Mcenery Cup a handicap over one mile and four furlongs. This is a very good contest but it’s ultra-competitive. Dawn Hoofer is definitely the one for me here however. This horse comes here today on absolutely brilliant form at the moment winning two of her last four races. I was very sweet on her chances last time out at Ballinrobe where some people say she was disappointing but she wasn’t in my opinion. The front four went off far too hard and she finished well in front of the rest of the prominent racers. I thought that run was actually very good, and I think in an open looking race. Dawn Hoofer is a decent each way bet.

6.10 - Bella Estrella 13/2 (Each Way) - The fourth race on the card is the Hurry Harriet stakes a listed race over one mile and a furlong. This is a very good listed race and it’s very competitive. Bella Estrella is the one for me here however. I really like this horse. She’s oh so game and determined and that showed in her latest start at Killarney in the Cairn Rouge stakes. She was put out in front she was headed, and she fought back and managed to get back up. That was a very good win. This is a hotter race however, but I was very encouraged with that win. Bella Estrella should give us a good run for our money at the very least here.

6.40 - Espoir D’soleil 6/1 (N.B) - The fifth race on the card is a fillies handicap over one mile and a furlong. This is a decent race and it’s very competitive. Espoir D’soleil is the one for me here. This horse ran very well in a hot handicap at Leopardstown behind Lucius Tiberius who ran in a grade one at Arlington on Saturday night. Espoir D’Soleil did well to finish as close as she did. She got hampered about two furlongs out but still managed to rally and finish a close sixth. This is a big drop down in class and I think Espoir D’Soleil will take full advantage of that here.

7.10 - Royal Admiral 6/4 - The sixth race on the card is an Apprentice Handicap over one mile and a furlong. This is a trappy contest but it’s pretty open. There’s a lot of guesswork about many of the others and at a process of elimination it takes me back to Royal Admiral here. This horse was absolutely backed off the boards last time out at Tipperary and he was really unlucky not to win. He was very slow out of the gates and needed to be push and shoved along early but he managed to keep finding and finish a very close second. If he had broken well, he would of won by at least two lengths. This is a poorer contest than that race, and I fully expect Royal Admiral to win here.

7.40 - Tynamite 16/1 (Each Way) - The penultimate race on the card is an Apprentice Handicap over one mile and a furlong. This is a much poorer division of this apprentice handicap than the first division and it’s wide open. I’m going for a stab at a big price here in the shape of Tynamite. When things go to plan he’s a much better horse than his handicap mark suggests. He needs a strong pace to win at and I think he will get that today. He’s also plummeting down the handicap because he’s been running in slowly ran races. He’s off a mark of 50 and he’s much better than that. He also has shown a liking for this track. He finished a very close up fourth in a better race than this in July. I think this horse is overpriced, he might bomb out but at 16/1 It’s worth taking that chance.

8.10 - Dabiyr 9/4 - The final race on the card is a maiden over one mile and a furlong. This is a very good maiden and it’s very competitive. Dabiyr is the one for me here however. He was backed off the boards for his debut at the Galway Races and he was quite unlucky not to win. He was green, and he was running into the back of horses as he had no room. When he finally got the breaks, he left it too late and the winner had flown. There’s a lot of improvement to come from this horse he’s a big scopey sort and I think he will go very close at the least here. Dabiyr a pretty confident selection here.
