BOLGER AND MANNING LEADING THE WAY

Coolcullen based trainer Jim Bolger and his son-in-law jockey Kevin Manning have been a formidable force in the Irish racing scene ever since Manning attained his first winner for him back in 1983.

The profitable link-up makes Manning the longest serving stable jockey in Ireland or the Britain by a long distance. At the beginning of every season the multitudes of racing fans nose-dive blindly into the turbulent pool that is early season maiden races and call for the Bolger/Manning lifeboat to come and rescue them in the shape of the next Coolcullen superstar and each season the duo never fails to disappoint.

Top level success is of course no stranger to the duo, in their roll of honour includes the Derby, Guineas, St James’s Palace Stakes and Oaks to only name but a few, it should be no shock to anybody when the amalgamation of Bolger and Manning pop again up with another big race success.

Manning is down to earth, there’s no airs or grace in his presence, visibly he lets his exceptional riding do the talking, as sure the sun rises every morning, it’s a banker punt that Manning will ride many big race winners every year,

Now with the racing superpower that is Godolphin added into the mix having extended their interests in Irish racing, it appears like only a matter of time before Manning will be throwing is leg over the next big thing trained by his father in-law Mr Jim Bolger.

Manning and Bolger have demonstrated their ability to deliver time and time again, Manning is a stalwart of the Irish weighing room, and he will continue as a favourite of the punters with his boss decisively fighting in his corner.

Truthfully, a partnership equal to Bolger and Manning feasibly will never be seen again, they’re undoubtedly one of a kind, and out in a league of their own.
