The Friday 11^th January meeting at Dundalk stadium was a very informative one. There was three horses who failed to win however ran was adequate promise to suggest their winning turn wont be too far away at this venue.

1 LORD WIMBORNE This Eddie Harty trained horse ran in the 6pm race over the distance of 1mile, He led briefly at the start of the contest however the jockey onboard wisely didn’t engage in a fight for the early leader, instead he got settled in 3^rd place. He came then with a late rattle inside the last furlong however the winner evidently got first run.The Drop in distance and a good stall will see this prominent racer among the winners soon, each run he appears to be getting better.

2 TONY THE GENT Is not an unexposed runner, clearly this Ger Lyons trained horse has been round the block quite a few times however on the all-weather circuit he is still lightly raced, he has only raced 3 times to-date. On Friday he was thrown into the quality 6.30pm all-weather championship qualifier race, which he was given a peculiar quiet ride by young claiming jockey Sean Bird, creeping into the race from off the pace and almost stuck on for second place. That sort of form reads well for the remainder of the series at Dundalk, with a more experienced jockey on-board winning should come in the not so distant future is expected. Seriously well-treated, if getting a better early position. Looks like a sure fire next time out winner.

3 THREE MAJORS This Anthony McCann trained horse is not a dependable animal, his form on the all-weather 3 wins from 31 runs, far from inspiring form however recent effort in the 7.30pm race on Friday evening staying on to finish a close 3^rd was very encouraging form, replicating of that sort of form next time our should see him amongst the winners. McCann is a very shrewd trainer, he will find an opening somewhere in the next few weeks for this horse.
