The Canter Banter Syndicate is run by employees of Mr Henderson himself, all the benefits from having the close tie with the yard will come through in the Ownership experience. We found out everything about this exciting new venture.

Tell us about your Syndicate? Canter Banter Racing is a chance for anyone with an interest in National Hunt racing to sample what it is like to have a horse in training at one of the top national hunt yards in the United Kingdom for the fraction of the price of a year’s training fees. The Syndicate is run by employees of Mr Henderson himself, all the benefits from having the close tie with the yard will come through in the Ownership experience.

Who is your club horse? Torolight is a 3-year-old by Toronado out of Tuscan Light. Torolight was previously trained by Richard Hughes. He stands at 15 hands 3 and is a precocious type. Torolight is hardy and takes his racing well, he had 5 runs as a 2-year-old whilst he won his final start showing he can hold his form. He took in 5 runs between February and July of his 3-year-old career, again showing he thrives on his racing again getting his head in front when being stepped up in trip to 1 mile 4 Furlongs.  This is an ideal fit for our early season plans, and as he is good mover, we will be looking to take advantage of the better ground in the autumn.

What are the plans for the year? The plans for the year are to have Torolight ready nice and early for the early juvenile hurdles in the Autumn. He is currently well forward in his summer schedule and should be able to hit the ground running. It gives any prospective member a chance to get a quick return in the sense of a racing experience, as the good ground should suit.

Pricing options? There is a £250 initial share price purchase, followed by a £300 payment for the training fees for the forthcoming season. Payments will be requested upfront, and no more payments will be taken at all after the initial buy in.

Who is your Trainer? Nicky Henderson will train Torolight, and his record speaks for himself. Torolight will be in safe hands, while being trained by the master of Seven Barrows.

Targets for the year and for the Horse? The first target for the year is to provide the best owner experience possible for the shareholders, whilst making them feel as close to the yard as can be made possible. The early season targets will be to hopefully a few early runs on the better ground, whilst any plans after this will be taken once we have got started. Ultimately a spring festival is of course what everyone can dream for.

Why is your syndicate different to others? Canter Banter Racing offers prospective shareholders a chance to enjoy all the joys of having a horse in training with Nicky Henderson, whilst not having to reach into their pockets twice. Shareholders will be able to enjoy intimate yard visits with a chance to meet Mr Henderson himself. Regular updates from the members of the Syndicate allow all members to keep in the inner circle of ownership throughout the season. It is a fantastic opportunity to experience being part of a championship winner yard and feeling an integral part of the whole process.
