COULD ‘DREAL’ BE THE REAL ‘DEAL’?

Armagh based trainer Ronan McNally has hinted the possibility of Dreal Deal being entered up for the Challow Hurdle at Newbury later this month.

Dreal Deal has been an absolute revelation this past few months for McNally and his team, winning five races on the bounce,

McNally added to the discussion; “I am not sure how good the Dreal Deal is at this stage to be honest nevertheless he has answered all the questions which we have asked of him at home and at the track with ease, so we will not know how good he is till he steps into higher grades to see where he slots in”.

He then added; “If he is declared to run in the Challow Hurdle, I would be confident of a big run. I am not interested in making up numbers in races, I want to be competitive. “In my mind Dreal Deal is a chaser for the future, so anything he does over hurdles in the next while will be a bonus.

We had question McNally on how he purchased this exhilarating horse which he kindly replied; “Ciaran Fennessy advised me to buy the horse and he has never put me far wrong yet and he sold me See Double U, Da Baba Elephant and The Jam Man. He has never put me far wrong with a horse yet and I trust him - when he tells me he has one for me to buy I don’t even go and look at the horse, I just transfer the money and go and get it.

McNally then concluded to our discussion with this audacious statement: “I haven’t made a secret that I’d love to see JP McManus come on board the yard and a horse like him would be ideal. To train for JP McManus would be a dream and if the right money and the right owner came along, I’d consider selling him to stay in the yard.”
