The inform Irish trained horse returned to the winners enclosures’ at betting odds of 5/6 – it wasn’t a surprise to any that the son of Montmartre won the race given he conceivably had the best form going into this winnable contest, it would have been more of a shock if he was beaten with all things considered.

Race winning jockey Danny McMenamin, a native of Downpatrick, in Northern Ireland will not forget this win for quite a while, him and Mig Des Taillons trainer, Patrick Turley are great friends from earlier employment together with Brian Hamilton.

McMenamin stated to us; “It’s was an incredibly memorable day for me for so many reasons. Patrick Turley, Declan Lavery and Shaun Dobbin have all been very good to me growing up, they taught a lot, and it was good to repay them. It had that real home feeling to it – It is a really special triumph for me”.

When questioned how he thought Mig Des Taillons was travelling throughout the race, McMenamin responded; “I never had a moments unease. Mig Des Taillons jumped and jumped very well I always felt like I had all angles covered.

He is a lovely horse going forward which I feel Patrick and all his team at home will have plenty of fun with – they have my phone number if they want to send a few more like him over for me to ride” kidded McMenamin.
