Like July, we had a fantastic August with 6 winners in the month as our excellent form continued.

We had another debut winner in the shape of Highest Rank. The colt, by Epaulette made his racecourse debut at Carlisle on the 23rd of the month under the excellent Clifford Lee. He battled on gamely to win at the first time of asking, a great result for his owners.

Staxton ran in the Gimcrack (Group 2) at York and race an excellent race to finish 5th. He was drawn on the wrong side of the field and hampered when making his move so on the face of it, it was a performance that his owners can upgrade. He showed he can hold his own in Group class and may now head to the Group 2 Mill Reef at Newbury. We were lucky enough to win the race in 2014 when Toocoolforschool demolished an excellent field to win by 7 lengths under Silvestre De Souza.

We have been very busy at the sales at Doncaster this week. We are always looking to add quality to the string. This season, we have a record 32 winners so far with hopefully more to come. We hope to beat that again next year and we are constantly looking to add the quality that will get out owners into the winners enclosure.

We have bought some really nice types by some excellent sires including Excelebration, Zebedee and more. All details are available on www.ontoawinner.net/available-shares.

Personally, September is one of my favourite months in the racing calendar as the Ayr Gold Cup festival takes place later this month. We have had a fair bit of luck at it over the years. Quiet Reflection announced herself as a superstar when demolishing a very good Harry Roseberry field and Ticking Katie also won a very nice race there the previous year. We should have a good team going there this year with Flying Pursuit having a good chance in the Silver Cup.
